TACC BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Jim Yatsu, Chair, TACC Board of Directors

Mr. Yatsu is the Director of International Supplier Relations at Tokyo Electron, a semiconductor equipment company. In addition to his work with TACC, Mr. Yatsu is active on the board of directors of Keep Austin Beautiful and regularly volunteers for Keep Austin Beautiful, Meals on Wheels and the Austin Resource Center for Homeless.

Dr. Rommanee “Foo” Swasdee, Vice Chair, TACC Board of Directors

Dr. Swasdee, a co-founder of TACC, is the owner of Satay and Get Sum Dim Sum restaurants. A chef and food scientist, Dr. Swasdee also produces award-winning Satay Brand products available nationwide. Dr. Swasdee works with several non-profit organizations in Austin, teaches cooking classes and offers consulting to food companies.

Ying McGuire, Vice Chair, TACC Board of Directors

Ms. McGuire is the Global Supplier Diversity Director at Dell Inc. She serves as board chair of the Southwest Minority Supplier Development Council, is a member of the Woman Business Enterprise National Council, an International Committee Member of the National Minority Supplier Development Council, and a board member of the Billion Dollar Round Table. She is instrumental in establishing Minority Supplier Development China, the first national supplier diversity organization in China.

Issam “Sam” Bakir, CFP, Treasurer, TACC Board of Directors

Mr. Bakir, President of TNT Financial Services, Inc., offers full service financial planning to individuals and small business owners. Prior to his work with TNT, Mr. Bakir managed the Middle East activities of an international company involved in trading and engineering. Other affiliations include the Financial Planning Association, the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, the Estate Planning Council of Central Texas, the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Austin Silicon Hills.  

Catherine Crago, Secretary, TACC Board of Directors

Ms. Crago is the Founder and Executive Producer of Diversity Interactive, an advisory services and interactive media firm that specializes in identifying how population change impacts the economy and translating that into practical information for companies and organizations.

Tommy Hodinh, TACC Advisory Board Member

Mr. Hodinh, who is a co-founder of TACC, is Chairman and CEO of MagRabbit, Inc., a supply chain management services provider with clients including Dell Corporation, DaimlerChrysler, General Motors, Ford Motor Company, and Buffalo Technology.

Lucia Hur, TACC Advisory Board Member

Ms. Hur is a co-founder of TACC and serves as CEO/President of Hur Chemical & Contract Packaging, one of the world’s leading specialty manufacturing companies for the entire sanitation industry throughout the world. Ms. Hur founded the company with her husband Dr. John Hur and both are active within the Asian community. 

Mohan Kharbanda, TACC Advisory Board Member

Mr. Kharbanda is the CEO of Lineage Power and has 30 years of experience in general management, marketing, business strategy, acquisitions, start-ups and off-shoring with leadership positions including Vice President at Apple, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and vice president and managing director of Dell India. Mr. Kharbanda, who is the past Chairman of the Texas Asian Chamber of Commerce, serves on the board of Med Data and serves on two Private Equity funds: as the Chairman of Board of Advisors with the Baird Capital Partners and an Executive-in-Residence with Baird Venture Partners. 

Judge Ramey Ko, TACC Advisory Board Member

Judge Ko, the first Asian American judge in Austin, Texas, previously practiced housing and domestic violence law. He founded Asian Americans for Obama, co-founded the Capital Area Asian American Democrats, chaired the Austin Commission on Immigrant Affairs and currently serves on the Austin Public Safety Commission. Other affiliations include Save Our Springs, Central Austin Democrats, South Austin Democrats, North By Northwest Democrats, Asian American Democrats of Texas, Austin Asian American Bar Association, Texas Exes Asian American Alumni Network and Asian Pacific Americans for Progress.

Deepak Burman, TACC Board of Directors

Mr. Burman is the President and Owner of Progressive Manufacturing Technology Inc., a small manufacturing and engineering company.  He is also involved with many local groups including the Rotary Club, Austin Area Interreligious Ministries, Hands on Housing, student mentoring and other volunteer activities.

Dr. Ge Chen, TACC Board of Directors

Dr. Chen is the Assistant Vice President of the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement at the University of Texas at Austin. She is actively involved in the Asian and Asian Pacific American affairs and has served as an advisor and mentor for numerous APA student groups and organizations. She co-founded and continues to be an active member of the Asian/Asian American Faculty and Staff Association.

Anurag Kumar, TACC Board of Directors

Mr. Kumar is CEO of AVK Global and a Chair with Vistage, a world-wide chief executive membership organization. Mr. Kumar has lived in Central Texas for over 14 years and have 28 years of global experience starting and leading with businesses of all sizes.

Dr. Wasana Pangan, TACC Board of Directors

Dr. Pangan has been in the economics and finance industry since 1996 as an economist, analyst, and consultant, including several years with the Bank of Thailand, the central bank of that country. She is a Merrill Lynch Financial Advisor and holds a CFP® certification awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. Dr. Pangan is very active in the Asian community.

Michele Tran, TACC Board of Directors

Ms. Tran is the owner of Lakeway Interior Fabrics and is active in the Asian and business community. Previous affiliations include BNI and Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce.  

TACC EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

 Yvonne Lim Wilson, TACC Executive Director

Ms. Wilson has more than a decade of experience in journalism and publishing through her online news site Asian Austin, and past work as managing editor West Austin News and reporter for Community Impact newspaper. She is an ongoing volunteer for the Asian American Cultural Center, a member of the Capital Area Asian American Democrats, founder of Asians in Media and Communication and active in the Asian community in Austin.
